Boecker Q Platinum Award

In a bid to improve food quality and raise the bar in the public health and safety sector, Boecker Public Health, the region’s largest Pest Control, Biosecurity, and Food Safety provider, announced the launch of the Q-Platinum Award (QPA), an internationally recognized new food safety standard, in partnership with DQS-UL, the global leader in assessment and management system certification with the support of the Syndicate of owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-Clubs and Pastries in Lebanon.

The initiative was officially unveiled by Michel Bayoud, CEO of Boecker, during a press conference organized on the 3rd of November at the Eau De Vie restaurant in Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel, specially held to disclose the company’s groundbreaking initiative that will have a considerable impact on the food industry in Lebanon. The high profile event which attracted key media outlets hosted also important stakeholders from the hospitality sector, including representatives of the food establishments namely Mr. Paul Ariss, President of the Syndicate of owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night-Clubs and Pastries in Lebanon, Mr. Edward Grissom, at DQS-UL as well as Mr. Nouhad Damous from Hospitality Services.

Speaking about the importance of the QPA, Mr. Bayoud, CEO of Boecker, said: “In light of the recent controversy about food safety in different outlets including restaurants, cafés and other hospitality venues in Lebanon, we decided to lead a key initiative that will help establish developed quality standards and best practices within the hospitality and food industry. In this line, the company is making available the Q-Platinum Certificate to all interested hospitality experts and business owners. This will definitely have a positive impact on all stakeholders who will obtain this internationally recognized food safety certificate, ensuring their clientele’s well being and boosting their confidence in the provided services and offerings.”

Speaking on behalf of the hospitality industry, Mr. Paul Ariss said: “We are always looking for such pioneering initiatives that help in establishing accredited quality standards in the food and hospitality sector. We strongly support Boecker in its efforts to assist our industry to raise the bar and continuously improve quality criteria that will benefit both the businesses and the clientele which will be more assured of the offerings we present them.”

The Q-Platinum Award has been designed for restaurants and food establishments’ owners to provide them with a simple and highly efficient Food Safety System, in a bid to preserve the reputation of the food establishments in Lebanon.
