Beirut Design Week (BDW) embarks on its 7th edition this year

Beirut Design Week (BDW), the design platform that propels the city into a vibrant rhythm for a whole week every year, launched the “Open Calls” with new partners this year, namely: Meker, Adorno and UNIDO.

The three companies alongside Beirut Design Week are addressing emergent independent designers, creative studios, and start-ups with new challenges that address public life, innovation in interiors and unique collectible design.

Meker, the reputable leader in kitchen fittings and wardrobes, is redesigning the kitchen of the future in the wake of new urban spaces that are remodeling the concept of living.

Adorno, an international digital gallery and sales platform for collectible design – and local manufacturing company Fabraca Studios, will give participating designers the chance to feature in their first curated Beirut design collection, as well as technical and manufacturing support from Fabraca Studios.

As for UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), the panel has chosen to venture to Tripoli and call designers and artists to imagine public spaces that integrate best with the life at Al Mina. The winner will see his works exhibited at BDW and in Vienna in partnership with panel member, Edelbert Köb.

Over the years, Beirut Design Week (BDW) has proven to be the reference of Design in Beirut, fostering cultural and economic development for entrepreneurs and designers from Lebanon, the Middle East and North Africa region, Europe, and the US.

With the BDW platform, Beirut is again making its mark as a leading force in creative and intellectual prosperity in the Middle East.
