City Centre Beirut goes eco-friendly to celebrate Earth Hour

Majid Al Futtaim—the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia reinforced its annual commitment to Earth Hour.

City Centre Beirut, member of Majid Al Futtaim group, unites the Lebanese community once again to protect the planet, even in the simplest of gestures. The leading shopping mall switched off its lights on Saturday March 24th, for a total of 10 minutes, in its initiative to raise awareness and inspire individuals to partake in the sustainability of our planet.

City Centre Beirut further prolonged its efforts in promoting active change in today’s environmental issues by educating, as well as encouraging the Lebanese society on bettering the space we live in. In fact, the mall promoted its seed planting stand all throughout the day in its central galleria, presenting their younger visitors with the chance to select and plant a seed of their selection, teaching them how to nurture it and monitor its growth all the while creating great moments for everyone everyday. City Centre Beirut continues to engage in protecting our environment while involving children and teaching them about their impactful participation.

Earth Hour has become such a passionate ritual that the community is fully aware of and proudly participates in. Every single step gets us closer to change and to improve the environment we live in for future generations.

City Centre Beirut is honoured to continuously partake in such an altruistic initiative. The mall is committed to invest in every environmentally friendly opportunity. Every light switched off during that time can lead to a substantial difference in energy consumption as well as decrease the negative impact of global warming.
