CMA CGM calls the Port of Tripoli (Lebanon) to accompany the economic development of Northern Lebanon

CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping group, is strengthening its service offering to and from Lebanon, serving the port of Tripoli, Lebanon’s second largest commercial port after Beirut, on a weekly basis.

Thus, with its WEMED service linking the eastern Mediterranean countries with those in the west, the port of Tripoli becomes the second port of call in Lebanon, linking this production area to France, Spain, Algeria, Turkey and Egypt.

This new offer is aimed at local exporters in the north region, which generates more than 20% of the country’s trade volumes.

The rotation will be as such: Marseilles, Barcelona, Valencia, Malta, Mersin, Iskenderun, Tripoli, Beirut, Alexandria, Malta, Algiers, Marseilles.

Located in Beirut where it employs around 200 people, CMA CGM maintains a very strong relationship with Lebanon and wishes to continue to support its economic development.

Joe Dakkak, General Manager of CMA CGM Lebanon, states: “Lebanon has historically been a major priority for CMA CGM. We have always been pioneers in our service offerings and this time we are getting even closer to our clients in the North. With the weekly call at the port of Tripoli, we hope to contribute actively to the economic and commercial development of the region, and the country in general.
