New Schools Announced to Attend the British Boarding Schools Show

For the fifth year running, Next Step Exhibitions Ltd (Next Step) will be hosting The British Boarding Schools Show Dubai, and is pleased to announce that another four schools have confirmed their attendance. Ashford, Dollar, St. Leonards and Dubai’s Swiss International Scientific School will participate as exhibitors. For the first time, a UAE school will participate in order to ensure that parents are presented with as wide a range of options as possible.

Taking place on the 17th and 18th of March, families with children from the community are invited to The Sheraton Hotel – Mall of the Emirates. The show provides parents with privileged access to representatives from the top British Schools and the chance to gather vital information that will help them to decide which might suit their child best.

The British Boarding Schools Show Dubai gives parents the opportunity to really get to know the schools:

  • Swiss International Scientific School Dubai, the first Dubai school to exhibit at the show, is the UAE’s first bilingual boarding school.
  • Dollar, one of the new additions to this year’s programme, was founded in 1818 and the building was designed by one of the most influential Scottish architects of the 1800s, William Henry Playfair.
  • If Millfield were a country, it would have been ahead of Canada in London 2012 Olympic medals table.
  • Cheltenham Ladies’ College offers over 160 extra-curricular activities for their girls
  • Strathallan School extends over 153 acres – the same as a small Caribbean island!
  • Gordonstoun is one of the only schools in the country to have an 80 foot sail training boat (Ocean Spirit of Moray).
  • The Downs Malvern is unique in that it has its own 9” gauge miniature steam railway which affords the children the opportunity to include engineering into their weekly programme.

These are just some of the things that make British boarding schools unique, even amongst themselves.  The show gives parents the opportunity to explore all the options and really find an environment and ethos that’s right for their child.

David Wellesley Wesley, The show’s founder commented “Choosing the right school for your children is an important and  potentially difficult decision.  We aim to give parents the tools to make that decision easier, so we’re hosting our biggest ever gathering of leading schools,  and providing busy parents from the Gulf region with the opportunity to network with education experts and hear them speak about the key issues that parents want to hear about.
