Samsung Partners with the Lebanese Autism Society to Install a Smart Classroom for Children with Autism in Lebanon

Samsung Electronics Levant Co. Ltd. (SELV) has installed a smart classroom for Children with Autism in Lebanon. In partnership with the Lebanese Autism Society (LAS), Samsung installed a smart screen television and tablets to support the development and education of children with Autism at the flagship LAS location at Collège Du Sacré-Coeur Frères, Gemmayzeh.

“At the heart of nearly every experience where people connect with technology, we unlock human potential,” said Mr. Chungsup Lee, President, Samsung Electronics Levant Co. Ltd. (SELV). “By partnering with the Lebanese Autism Society to install a smart classroom, we’re creating a collaborative culture that uses innovation and technology to explore opportunities for these children to live a fuller life in a connected world.”

This classroom provides Children with Autism a safe area where they can learn and experience new material with the assistance of Samsung products and technology. The initiative with LAS is one aspect of SELV’s corporate social responsibility program which conducts activities to generate value in the community by addressing social issues.

“For nearly two decades, the Lebanese Autism Society has been working to develop highly structured, specialized educational programs tailored to the individual needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to promote and support their social integration and as well as to spread towards public awareness in regards to Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

,” said Mrs. Arwa Halawi, President, Lebanese Autism Society. “With the generosity of donors such as Samsung, we’re able to use the latest technology to support the ongoing development of those with Autism and enhance their skills in new and exciting ways.”

The Lebanese Autism Society (LAS) is a non-governmental organization founded by parents of Children with Autism and professionals working with Autism. To date, more than 1000 members have joined the Association to enhance the well-being of individuals living with Autism in Lebanon by advocating for their rights and providing them and their families support and services from early childhood through adulthood.
