SWISS MADE – ARABIC EDITION LAUNCHED IN LEBANON

Librairie Antoine announced the launch of the highly anticipated Arabic version of the book “SWISS MADE” in an event held at Libraire Antoine’s flagship store at Beirut Souks.

 

Mr. Emile Tyan, CEO of Hachette-Antoine hosted the event in the presence of Swiss Ambassador for Lebanon, H.E. Mrs. Monika Schmutz Kirgoez, the book’s Author, Mr. James Breiding, Publisher, Mr. John McCarthy, and Translator turned Marketing Director, Mrs. Besma AlJouini, all visiting from Switzerland.
The launch of the Arabic edition took place under the watch of industry leaders and prominent names in the Lebanese society including Mrs.  Shahina Osseiran, daughter of the late poet Jawdat Haydar, Mrs. Patricia Cherfan, Publisher of HOME Magazine, Vice Chairman of the International College (IC) Board of Trustees, Mr. Imad Taher, IC President, Dr. Don Bergman,

Former Swiss Ambassador and current President of the Swiss Business Council – Lebanon (SBC-L), H.E Mr. Francois Barras, SBC-L Vice President, Mr. Walid El Baba, Mr. Roderick Sursock Cochrane, Mrs. & Mrs. Jawad and Zeina Adra, Mr. Razek Mamarbachi, and Mr. & Mrs. Dany and Sally Chidiac.

 

The Arabic version of James Breiding’s bestseller “SWISS MADE – The untold story behind Switzerland’s success” reveals how Switzerland, a small, landlocked country with few natural resources, could achieve its status as Number one in global competitiveness and innovation.

The publisher, McCarthy, stated, ” This is a must-read book for Arab business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, educators, students and politicians because they will all find ingredients in the Swiss model which they can apply to making their countries more stable and prosperous.”

The Arabic edition was produced entirely in Switzerland and launched in Geneva on November 20 at the Hotel Beau-Rivage during a reception and book signing event hosted by the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The book’s corporate sponsors are Credit Suisse, Hotel Beau-Rivage (Geneva), Victorinox, SICPA and m3 Real Estate (owned by Lebanese businessperson Abdullah Chatila).
In the course of their visit, Dr. Nehale Farid Mostapha, Dean of the Faculty of Business at the Beirut Arab University invited Breiding to share his knowledge and give a lecture to business students about Switzerland’s economic model.
