World famous Staatskapelle Dresden Orchestra tours the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

German-based Staakskapelle Dresden Orchestra, set to perform alongside acclaimed pianist Rudolf Buchbinder at the stunning Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 December, today toured the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for the first time as part of their fourth visit to the capital.

Members of the orchestra were enamoured by the architectural masterpiece, characterised by the striking 82 domes, more than 1000 columns, the world’s largest hand-knitted carpet, and 24 carat gilded chandeliers dotted across the landmark. Their tour covered the entirety of the iconic mosque, granting the Orchestra an opportunity to experience the mosque’s impressive interior, as well as the site’s symbolism as the final resting place of the late founding Father of the Nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Orchestra is set to captivate audiences at Emirates Palace, presenting the complete cycle of five piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven. Part 1 on Tuesday 5 December ushers in Beethoven’s piano concertos 1 and 5 while piano concertos 2, 3 and 4 will follow suit the night after in Part 2.

Tickets are now on sale with prices starting from AED 195.  Book your tickets at www.ticketmaster.ae and all Virgin Megastores across the UAE.
